Terroir

Special location on top of the hills

The small, family-run winery is situated in Castelplanio, at 350 meters above sea level. The vineyard is on a hill which guarantees that the vines have great exposure to sunlight. The higher up the hill, the fresher and crisper the air becomes. Humidity is thus reduced and the breeze helps to create the right level of air humidity, preventing the formation of mold. The vineyards are located on calcareous clay soil which is ideal for the production of high-quality wines limited quantity.

Marika wine Label

The label of Marika portrays the landscape that can be seen from their vineyard: they see colored hills from the different crops to get to the view of the sea. The label was prepared by a Sicilian painter, that’s how Tony Child has interpreted their hills.

Deserto is not a sweet wine it is really dry

Deserto: This name comes from Monte Deserto where the vineyards are located but this is not a dessert wine, this is a dry white wine with a classic flavor profile of the Verdicchio grape.
